Explore the foundational skills needed to bridge phonemic awareness to decoding written words
Decoding is using knowledge of letter-sound relationships to correctly pronounce written words.
This session focuses on the foundational skills necessary for teaching students to decode one-syllable and multi-syllabic words.
Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based strategies delivered through a direct instruction approach.

Karyn has extensive professional and personal experience working with struggling students and children with special needs. In fact, it was the journey of raising her two sons with dyslexia that inspired Karyn to create Coopalo Learning Center in Boise.
