Join us to learn more about advocating for your child in our Idaho Public Schools. Mr. Mert Burns, a dispute resolution contractor for our State Department of Education will walk us through the process of dispute resolution in Idaho.
Mert Burns, a retired special education teacher and administrator will join us to discuss dispute resolution options offered to districts and parents/guardians by the Idaho State Department of Education (SDE). Mr. Burns is currently a Dispute Resolution Contractor for the SDE. Special Education Dispute resolution is a process by which educators and parents/guardians have an opportunity to resolve disagreements about the needs of a child with a disability. Dispute resolution allows educators and parents/guardians to come to a consensus regarding what solutions should be brought to bear to help a child learn.
